How we calculated it
Current cost = hours/week × hourly rate × 4.33 weeks. Net ROI = current cost minus Brand Brain plan price. Payback = (plan price ÷ current cost) × 30 days. We don't model output quality or revenue lift, only time-and-cost savings.
Annualized
+$12.6K
Net yearly savings at the current cadence. Doesn't include revenue from more consistent posting, faster response, or recovered weekends.
See the savings? Run the agent for real.
BrandBrain drafts posts in your voice, you approve them in one queue, then schedule across LinkedIn, X, Threads, Instagram, and Facebook. Hours back, every week.
Why it matters
Five real profiles, one honest number
Pure cost math
No imagined revenue lift, no inflated multipliers. Hours times rate minus subscription. The number is conservative on purpose so it survives a CFO conversation.
SDR mode included
If you are sizing an AI sales agent against a human SDR, the same calculator runs that math with loaded-cost multiplier and tool stack lines.
Plan pre-matched
Every preset preselects the right Brand Brain tier. Override it in one click if you want to test a different plan against the same workload.
Methodology
Where every number comes from
Content marketing cost formula
Current monthly cost = hours per week × hourly rate × 4.33 weeks. Net monthly ROI = current monthly cost minus Brand Brain plan price. Payback period in days = (plan price ÷ current monthly cost) × 30.
Hours freed per month equals monthly hours on the assumption that an AI marketing agent reclaims the entire production block. In practice a human still owns 10-20% of the time for strategy and review.
SDR replacement cost formula
Current monthly cost = (SDR annual base salary × loaded multiplier ÷ 12) + monthly tool stack. The default loaded multiplier is 1.25, which covers payroll tax, health benefits, retirement match, equipment, and bench overhead. Higher-cost-of-living metros run 1.30-1.40.
Brand Brain is the content workspace above an AI sales agent: brand voice, ICP doc, value-prop library, and approved language the AI SDR draws from. A full human-to-AI swap also needs an AI sales agent like Artisan, AiSDR, or Lindy.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate the ROI of an AI marketing agent?
Take your current monthly cost (hours per week on content multiplied by your blended hourly rate, then multiplied by 4.33 weeks per month) and subtract the AI agent subscription. The result is your net monthly ROI. Divide the subscription price by the current monthly cost and multiply by 30 to get payback in days. This calculator runs that math for five preset profiles and a fully editable custom mode.
What is the realistic cost of a human SDR in 2026?
PayScale reports an average base salary of $51,244 for a US-based Sales Development Representative as of January 8, 2026, with a 10th-to-90th percentile range of $40,000 to $67,000. Built In reports an average base of $57,921 with total compensation of $83,110 across 2026 data. Add 25-30% on top for payroll tax, benefits, equipment, and software to get the loaded monthly cost (typically $5,800 to $8,700 per month all-in).
What is the average hourly rate for social media work?
PayScale reports an average annual salary of $60,596 for a US-based Social Media Manager as of April 15, 2026, with a 10th-to-90th percentile range of $41,000 to $88,000. Divided across a standard 2,080-hour work year that maps to roughly $29 per hour at the low end and $42 per hour at the high end. Freelancers and agency rates typically blend higher ($50 to $100 per hour) once benefits, project management, and overhead are loaded in.
Can an AI marketing agent fully replace a human marketer?
For solopreneurs and small businesses on one to three platforms, an AI marketing agent can carry most of the production load (research, drafting, format adaptation, scheduling, and reporting). A human still owns strategy, creative direction, customer relationships, and high-stakes review. For mid-market teams the realistic 2026 split is one human marketing manager plus an AI agent doing the volume work, not a full replacement.
How is replacing an SDR with AI different from replacing a content marketer?
A human SDR books meetings, which requires outbound sequencing, data enrichment, deliverability infrastructure, and reply triage. An AI sales agent (Artisan, AiSDR, Lindy, custom builds) owns that loop. Brand Brain sits above it as the content workspace where the brand voice, ICP doc, and value-prop library that the AI SDR draws from are built and maintained. A content marketer replacement is more direct: Brand Brain itself handles the daily production work.
What does the payback period mean in this calculator?
Payback period is the number of days the AI agent subscription needs to run before it has saved you its own monthly cost. A 30-day payback means break-even at one month. Anything earlier than that is fast payback. The math is (plan price divided by current monthly cost) times 30. For most solopreneurs paying $50 per hour the Starter plan pays back in under three days at five hours per week.
Does this calculator include revenue lift from better marketing?
No, by design. The ROI shown is pure cost-and-time savings, not revenue. Real revenue lift from more consistent posting, faster response time, and freed strategic capacity is typically larger than the cost savings but harder to forecast cleanly. We left it out so the number is conservative and traceable to two inputs you already know: your hours and your rate.
Which Brand Brain plan should I pick?
Starter at $29 per month fits solopreneurs and small businesses on one to three platforms with 10,000 AI credits monthly. Creator at $99 per month suits marketing managers and active operators on four-to-five platforms with 30,000 credits and bulk scheduling. The Agency tier at $499 per month is built for agencies managing 5-10 clients with 150,000 credits, multi-brand profiles, and team seats. The calculator preselects the recommended plan for each preset.
