A solo founder running a Claude-anchored content stack in May 2026 pays $483.40/month at the tier I personally run across 12 tools. The cheapest sane configuration of the same 12 tools drops to ~$230/month, and a rock-bottom Claude-anchored stack sits near $46/month. Annualized at the full tier that is $5,234.40/year before API overage.
The Full Stack at a Glance
Twelve tools, each at the tier I actually pay for. Prices are pulled directly from each vendor pricing page on May 21, 2026. No estimates, no “contact sales” for tiers I do not use.

1. Claude Max (5x) — $100/month
The anchor of the whole stack. Max at $100/month on the 5x tier (Max 20x is $200/month) gets me five times the usage of Claude Pro at $17/month annual ($20 monthly). Both tiers include Claude Code and Claude Cowork. Both share usage limits across the chat, Code, and Cowork surfaces. Anthropic publishes the pricing on claude.com/pricing, verified live on May 21, 2026.
I run Max instead of Pro because I hit the Pro 5-hour-window usage cap by 11am most days when I am drafting content, running Skills, and pasting research transcripts. The 5x is the breakeven point. 20x is overkill unless you are running Claude Code agents in parallel.
Why it is in the stack: Every draft, every research synthesis, every voice-fit pass, every prompt engineering session. Claude is the engine. Brand Brain is the workspace; Claude is what does the actual writing.
Cheaper alternative: Claude Pro at $17/month annual ($20 monthly). You will hit the cap if you do more than ~2 hours/day of heavy Claude work. Tested.
2. Brand Brain Creator — $99/month
The workspace above Claude where brand voice, content review, multi-platform publishing, and scheduling actually live. Creator at $99/month (annual $79.20/month) ships 30,000 AI credits/month plus a 10% bonus on top-ups. Pricing is published on brandbrain.app/pricing.
Brand Brain Starter at $29/month is the entry tier. Same workspace, 10,000 credits/month, no top-up bonus. Creator is the bump I made when avatar video generation became part of the weekly content cadence.
Why it is in the stack: Cross-platform publishing to LinkedIn, X, Threads, and Instagram. Brand voice memory that survives between Claude sessions. Content review queue. Always-on agent tasks for trend discovery. Avatar video and image generation. This replaces what would otherwise be 3-4 separate tools.
Cheaper alternative: Brand Brain Starter at $29/month. Same workspace, less credit headroom.
3. ElevenLabs Pro — $99/month
AI voice for narration, voice cloning for podcasts, and high-quality TTS for any vertical video. Pro at $99/month ships 600,000 credits per month and 192kbps audio quality. Pricing on elevenlabs.io/pricing.
The full ElevenLabs ladder verified live in May 2026: Free $0 (10k credits), Starter $6/month (30k credits, commercial license), Creator $11/month (121k credits, voice cloning), Pro $99/month, Scale $299/month, Business $990/month.
Why it is in the stack: Avatar voiceovers, podcast intros, narration over screen recordings. Quality difference between Creator and Pro shows up most in the 192kbps output and the “Professional Voice Clone” for branded narration.
Cheaper alternative: ElevenLabs Starter $6/month or Creator $11/month covers most solo marketers until they ship 4+ avatar videos per week.
4. Higgsfield Plus — $49/month
AI image and short-form video for ad creative and content thumbnails. Plus at $49/month ($39/month annual) ships 1,000 credits and unlocks character consistency. Pricing on higgsfield.ai/pricing.
The full Higgsfield ladder verified in May 2026: Free (10 credits/day), Starter $15/month (200 credits), Plus $49/month (1,000 credits, $39/month annual), Ultra $129/month (3,000 credits, $99/month annual), Business $89/seat/month ($62/seat annual). Credits expire after 90 days.
Why it is in the stack: Faster than running prompts in Midjourney or DALL-E for character-consistent ad creative. Short video (up to 15 seconds with the Veo 3.1 model) for paid social tests.
Cheaper alternative: Higgsfield Starter $15/month, or skip entirely if Brand Brain's built-in image generation covers your visual needs.
5. Descript Creator — $35/month
Video editing with text-based editing, transcription, and AI cleanup. Creator at $35/month ($24/month annual) ships 30 hours of media and 800 AI credits per month. Pricing on descript.com/pricing.
The Descript ladder: Free $0 (60 min/month), Hobbyist $24/month ($16/month annual, 10 hours), Creator $35/month ($24/month annual), Business $65/month ($50/month annual). 4K export starts at Creator.
Why it is in the stack: Editing the long-form YouTube video that becomes 5-7 short clips. Studio Sound on every recording. Transcription that feeds back into Claude for content repurposing.
Cheaper alternative: Descript Hobbyist $24/month ($16 annual) if you ship under 10 hours of finished video per month.
6. ChatGPT Plus — $20/month
Second-opinion LLM. $20/month for ChatGPT Plus on openai.com/chatgpt/pricing. I run it alongside Claude not as a primary engine but for sanity-checking, image generation when Higgsfield is overkill, and the occasional “ask both models the same question” pattern.
For comparison, Claude API rates verified May 2026 on the same surface: Opus 4.7 $5 input / $25 output per million tokens, Sonnet 4.5 $3 / $15, Haiku 4.5 $1 / $5. OpenAI GPT-5.5 $5 / $30, GPT-5.4 $2.50 / $15. Claude is competitive on output cost for the model class.
Why it is in the stack: Diversification. When Claude rate-limits, ChatGPT keeps the workflow moving. When OpenAI ships a new image model, I want access without buying credits.
Cheaper alternative: Drop it and run GPT-5.4 via the API at $2.50 / $15 per million tokens. You save $20/month if you only need OpenAI 1-2 times per week.
7. Notion Plus — $10/month
Docs, knowledge base, ICP notes, content briefs. Plus at $10/month per member ($8/month annual) on notion.com/pricing.
Full Notion ladder May 2026: Free $0, Plus $10/month per member ($8 annual), Business $20/month per member ($16 annual, adds Notion Agent + AI Meeting Notes), Enterprise contact sales. Custom Agents add-on is “free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits.”
Why it is in the stack: Brand voice docs that I paste into Claude prompts. Content calendars that mirror what Brand Brain shows on the publishing side. Client deliverable folders.
Cheaper alternative: Notion Free is enough for solo. Or Obsidian (free) with Obsidian Sync at $4/month if you prefer local-first markdown.
8. Loom Business — $18/month
Async video review for client work and team handoffs. Business at $18/seat/month billed monthly (about $15/seat/month billed annually at 17% off) on loom.com/pricing.
Loom ladder: Starter Free (25 videos, 5-min recording cap), Business $18/seat/month billed monthly (~$15/seat/month billed annually, unlimited videos + HD up to 4K), Business + AI $24/seat/month (auto-enhancement, video-to-text, meeting recaps).
Why it is in the stack: “Here is how I would approach this” client videos. Walkthroughs. Faster than typing a 400-word async message.
Cheaper alternative: Loom Starter (Free) if you stay under 25 videos and 5-minute recordings. Tella is a similar product at competitive pricing if you record more polished walkthroughs.
9. Buffer Essentials (2 channels) — $10/month
Backup scheduler for the platforms Brand Brain does not natively publish to. Essentials at $5/month per channel ($60/year per channel annual) on buffer.com/pricing. Two channels = $10/month.
Buffer ladder: Free (3 channels, 10 scheduled posts each), Essentials $5/channel/month, Team $10/channel/month (unlimited team members + approval workflows).
Why it is in the stack: Pinterest and TikTok scheduling, which are not in Brand Brain's native publishing yet. If you do not run those two surfaces, drop Buffer entirely.
Cheaper alternative: Buffer Free for up to 3 channels and 10 posts/channel. Fine if you batch monthly.
10. Google Workspace Business Starter — $8.40/month
Custom-domain email, Drive, Calendar. Business Starter at $8.40/user/month ($7/month annual) US pricing on workspace.google.com/pricing.
Full Workspace ladder US 2026: Business Starter $8.40/month ($7 annual), Business Standard $16.80/month ($14 annual), Business Plus $26.40/month ($22 annual). January 2025 pricing bumped 17-22% across all plans when Gemini AI got bundled in.
Why it is in the stack: Custom-domain email for client communication. Calendar that integrates with everything. 30GB Drive for shared client folders.
Cheaper alternative: Cloudflare Email Routing (free) forwarding to a personal Gmail, plus iCloud or Proton Mail. You lose the @your-domain composing, but inbound works.
11. Vercel Pro — $20/month
Hosting for the landing site, blog, and serverless functions. Pro at $20/user/month on vercel.com/pricing.
Vercel includes on Pro: 10M edge requests/month, 1TB fast data transfer, 1M function invocations with overage at $0.60/M, custom firewall rules. Hobby is free for personal projects but has no commercial use license.
Why it is in the stack: Next.js hosting that does not require me to think about infrastructure. Preview deploys on every PR.
Cheaper alternative: Cloudflare Pages (free, with Workers Paid at $5/month) or Netlify Free. Trade-off: less polished Next.js DX, but $20/month saved.
12. Claude / OpenAI API — ~$15/month variable
Scripted automation and the occasional batch process. Variable spend, averaging $15/month at the rate I run it. Claude API rates verified May 2026: Opus 4.7 $5/$25 per million input/output tokens, Sonnet 4.5 $3/$15, Haiku 4.5 $1/$5. OpenAI GPT-5.5 $5/$30, GPT-5.4 $2.50/$15, GPT-5.4-mini $0.75/$4.50, GPT-5.4-nano $0.20/$1.25.
Prompt caching cuts repeat-input costs by up to 90% on Claude. Most of my API spend is on Sonnet 4.5 doing bulk content transformations where Pro's rate limit would block the workflow.
Why it is in the stack: Scripts that process more tokens per minute than the Pro/Max chat window allows. Background batches that run overnight.
Cheaper alternative: Skip the API and stay in the chat UI. You give up automation but save $15-40/month.
Where I Would Cut If I Had To
- 01
Drop ElevenLabs Pro to Starter, save $93/month
$99/month to $6/month. 30,000 credits is enough for ~3-5 short voiceovers per week. Voice cloning is the feature I would miss most.
- 02
Drop Higgsfield entirely, save $49/month
Brand Brain's image generation covers most of what I use Higgsfield for. The video angle is what I would miss. Short paid social tests get harder.
- 03
Downgrade Claude Max to Pro, save $80/month
$100 to $20. You will hit rate limits if you work in Claude for more than 2 hours/day. Honest trade for a leaner month.
- 04
Drop ChatGPT Plus, save $20/month
Move to API pay-per-use. You save $20/month if you only need OpenAI 1-2 times per week.
- 05
Drop Descript to Hobbyist, save $11/month
$35 to $24/month. You keep watermark-free 1080p and the core text-editing flow. Lose 4K export and most AI tools.
All five cuts together: $483.40/month becomes ~$230/month. The cheapest sane stack stays around $46/month if you go all-free except Claude Pro and Brand Brain Starter.
Where Brand Brain Fits in the Stack
Brand Brain Creator at $99/month is the second-largest line in this stack, right after Claude Max. The honest reason it earns the line: it replaces three things that would otherwise need three separate tools.
First, multi-platform publishing. Posting to LinkedIn, X, Threads, and Instagram natively would cost roughly $40-60/month with Buffer Team ($10/channel x 4 channels) or $99/month with Hootsuite Standard. Second, brand voice memory that survives between sessions. Without this, every Claude conversation starts cold and you re-paste the same ICP doc.
Third, content review queue plus always-on agent tasks. Trend discovery runs in the background instead of being a Friday afternoon task. AI avatar video and image generation are bundled in.
If you only do one of those three things, you do not need Brand Brain. If you do all three, the $99 saves you 2-4 other subscriptions and the operational tax of context-switching between five tabs.
Try Brand Brain starting at $29/month on Starter, or compare against your current setup with the social tool switch cost calculator.
What This Stack Replaces
If you priced an equivalent “old-school” marketing stack in May 2026 without Claude, without Brand Brain, without AI voice or video, you would land somewhere between:
| Old-school stack | Monthly | Replaced by |
|---|---|---|
| Hootsuite Standard | $99/user/mo annual | Brand Brain Creator $99 |
| Sprout Social Standard | $199/seat/mo | Brand Brain Creator $99 |
| Jasper Pro | $59/seat/mo annual | Claude Pro $17 + Brand Brain |
| Synthesia Personal | $29/mo annual | Brand Brain avatar gen |
| Surfer SEO Essential | $99/mo | Claude + Brand Brain research |
| Beehiiv Scale | $43/mo annual | Not in stack (skip newsletter) |
A “maximum maximalist” old-school stack would clear $500-600/month easily for one solo founder, before you add Claude or Brand Brain back in. The bet of the new stack is: pay less, ship more, replace 4-5 tools with the Claude-plus-Brand-Brain duo.
